These lessons are based on over 15 years of real teaching experience, during which I have helped thousands of children in Nursery and Primary Schools improve their language skills and, above all, enjoy the experience of learning a new language.

What is inside Mes Premières Leçons de Français – Volume 1 ?

 

• 1 introductory CD (to be listened to first): Mes premiers mots de Français – première partie (My first French words – part 1).
• 4 Theme CD’s (to be listened to in any order):

1.        Les animaux – première partie (Animals – part 1).

2.        Ce qu’on mange – première partie (What we eat – part 1).

3.        A l’école – première partie (At school – part 1).

4.        Mon corps – première partie (My body – part 1).

• 1 exclusive ‘Bonus CD’ (containing 12 songs, 5 finger mimes & 4 stories).
• Over 100 key words and sentences.

 

 

What is inside each CD?

 

• 4 fun lessons (each lesson is approximately 10-15 minutes long).
• 1 glossary of key words taught over the four lessons (when you listen to the glossary practise repeating the words after you hear them).

 

Who are the lessons for?

 

• These lessons are ideal for primary school children and keen parents of any age! They can be listened to alone, with a parent or even in a classroom environment with a whole class.

   

 

How will these CD’s help my child?

 

• The Lingorama lessons encourage children to develop an interest in, an appreciation of, and a positive attitude towards the French language and culture.
• Children who start learning through speaking and listening develop their language skills faster, become more confident and have fewer inhibitions about making grammatical mistakes, as the foremost objective is communicating.
• Our main aim has always been to make the lessons FUN, memorable, engaging, confidence-boosting, and to build solid foundations for further study and development at Keystage 3 (Secondary School).

How are the lessons structured?

 

Each lesson is divided into the following sections:

 

1. Introduction (this is where we greet the children, say “Bonjour�, talk about the weather, etc.).
2. Finger mime (the same finger mime is repeated over the four lessons to encourage the children to develop their sentence construction and reinforcement of the new language).
3. A traditional French song (with explanation).
4. The “new words� (based on the theme).
5. A game (based on the new and previous vocabulary).
6. A second traditional French song (with explanation).
7. A story (the story is split into four parts:  in the first lesson you hear part 1, in the second lesson you hear parts 1 and 2, in the third lesson you hear parts 1, 2 & 3, and in the fourth lesson you hear the complete story).
8. Au revoir.

Each CD strikes the perfect balance between repetition and variation. This enables the children to gain a strong reinforcement of the new language as well as enjoying learning new words every lesson.

 

Note: the “Mes premiers mots de Français� CD does not contain a story as we are concentrating more on the basic vocabulary, such as colours & numbers etc.
